Timescape - "Strange"

Timescape are Italians and, as they state themselves, they play progressive Rock/Metal. Strange is their second work after "Two Worlds" which was released before the year of 1997 and which received plenty of good reviews...
It's continuance, "Strange", is a competent successor of it, since they continue in the same musical rhythm of melodic metal/rock which reminds intensely elements of Queensryche, although without the phenomenon of copying or of the big influence. Melody is what characterises this group and, fortunately, although they playt progressive they have not fallen in the trap that many bands fall into, that is, to exaggerate and pay attention in technicality rather tahn in the music itself.

The songs can be characterised as mid-tempo rhythm with some metal outbursts and they pump their subject from facts that occupy the man as an entity and his psychic worries. The songs, in some of their parts remind even Toto but they are waving in parts of big relaxation without spoiling the whole, though...

The production is excellent with tremendous guitar parts. Also, the keyboards offer a special atmosphere. This album is a tremendous recommendetion for those who like this kind of music and to them only! The rest, if they have the mood to relax sometimes, they should just try it out.
