1.INTRODUCE THE BAND TO THE METALLERS AND GIVE US A SHORT BIOGRAPHY.

Blade Of Spirit was formed in December '96 as a three member band and in July '97 the band released it's 1st demo "Odes To Carpathian Tales",while in mid '98 the band accomplished it's first concerts.Also in August '98 a promo-tape entitled "Blade Of Spirit" was released.In '99 the band was inactive because of several problems with band members.In 2000 the band finds it's way and in September 2000 the band released a demo called "Dies Irae".In May 2001 and with a few changes in the line-up the band released another one demo-cd entitled "Countless Time",while in the same period the band made a few more concerts.

2.WHICH ARE YOUR INFLUENCES? HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR MUSIC?

Every member in the band has it's own personal influences.Basically ,we listen every kind of metal,but our main influences are the classic '80s heavy/power metal.We try to sum all our influences in our music and the best description for our music is heavy/power metal with an epic touch.

3.HOW MANY DEMOS DO YOU HAVE? WHICH ARE THE SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCIES AMONG THEM?

As I said before we released "Odes To Carpathian Tales" in July '97,a promo-tape "Blade Of Spirit" in August '98,"Dies Irae" in September 2000 and "Countless Time" in May 2001.Our first 2 demos were some kind of experiment to see our abilities and to check out how we can make a demo.After "Dies Irae" we took the whole thing more seriously.The differences are on the composing section and the production,sections which are improved from one demo to another.The similarities are that all these demos were created from the same persons,there is our personal work,and our personal influences.

4.WHAT ARE YOUR LYRICS TALKING ABOUT? DO YOU LIKE TO TALK ABOUT EVERYDAY SITUATIONS OR FANTASY STORIES?

Our lyrics talk about personal or emotional situations or how things work in today's reality.We like to talk about everyday situations, just because through our lyrics we like to express our worries about what is going on around us and not for fantasy stories, just because it's too easy to write a fantasy story theme lyric.

5.WHICH IS YOUR BIGGEST DREAM YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE THROUGH YOUR MUSIC?

Our will is to create good music and of course our will is to make our music known and acceptable to metal fans.We don't have a big dream, we just do our best, and if something good will show up,we'll be happy for that.

6.DO YOU THINK THAT IF YOU WERE FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY THINGS WOULD BE EASIER FOR YOU?

The underground Greek heavy metal scene is growing bigger day by day,but a few things are still complicated.Greek metal scene needs more support, and the bands need some gig places,for example,so that they can play live and promote under this way their music.These things are a little bit better in other countries since they have good metal studios and people to involve and create a very goon production.So I suppose that if we were from another country things would be easier for us.

7.HOW DO YOU DESCRIBE THE FACT THAT GREEK BANDS MOSTLY PLAY EXTREME METAL AND WHY DO YOU THINK THAT DESPITE THE FACT THAT GREECE DOESN'T OFFER THE CHANCE TO THE BANDS TO BECOME FAMOUS WORLDWIDE, MORE AND MORE BANDS SHOW UP?

Apart from the big Greek bands,which play extreme metal Greek underground scene has a lot of good heavy/power bands.As for the fact that more and more bands show up,despite the fact that there aren't many offers for worldwide success,I believe this comes from the fact that a lot of bands have real passion for metal , and they try to create something really good.I believe in the future more Greek bands will have the opportunity for success.

8.WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WEREN'T ABLE TO COMPOSE MUSIC?

Difficult question.Composing music is a way to express your feelings and your emotions.It's very hard if you can't express what you feel through the music you like.I just hope we'll be also able to compose music in the future.

9.HOW DID YOU CHOOSE THIS BAND NAME? WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR YOU?

"Blade Of Spirit" song talks about living in decay,and despite this,in the end you must find your inner flame and fight for your rights as a human.This is the way we think and act as a band ,so it means a lot to us.

10.IF YOUR MUSIC WAS A PICTURE WHAT WOULD IT SHOW?

Again a difficult question.It would probably be a picture filled with dark and light showing our worries ,our feelings and our emotional situations,just like our lyrics.Besides,picture is an image of how we feel, and in our lyrics and our music,as I said ,we express how we feel.

11.DO YOU LIKE READING BOOKS? WHICH BOOK THAT YOU READ WOULD YOU LIKE TO TAKE AND MAKE IT A SONG OR A WHOLE ALBUM AND FILM IT AS WELL?

Well I like reading books but only when I've got free time."Lord Of The Rings" is a great book and a great film,but if I'd have the chance to take a book and make a song,it would probably be something from Greek litterature and Greek poetry,were are some great poets and writers. As I said I don't like to write a fantasy story,that's why I wouldn't choose books like "Lord of the Rings" ,even though is a great book.

12.YOU ARE GIVEN THE ABILITY TO CHANGE SOMETHING IN THE WORLD. WHAT WOULD THAT BE?

Unfortunately,only politicians have the ability to change something in the world, and most of the times , this ability causes terrible results ,for the world.If I'd have this ability I'd probably secure national peace and national justice and equality to all the world.And more heavy metal of course.
