The band was founded in 1992. They recorded their debut album, "A Shadowed Dying Conscience", in july of 1994. The summer of 1996 saw the first Desolate live show ever when they participated at The Third National Death Festival. They released a limited edition rehearsal tape in 1997 and built up a reputation as one of bulgaria's best and most active live bands with participations at all important festivals. Their second album, "Eventide of the Orb and Heavens", was released as a cassette-only version for the bulgarian market in 1998 and is now finally seeing a proper CD release by X-Rated Records. Desolate is already working on new material and will record their third album in february of 2001.
