Formed in 1990 by founding members Paul Zavaleta & Jon Brody. Deteriorot recorded their first release Demo '92 with then bassist Jim Hoffman who was later replaced by Chris Machado. Playing shows with Obituary, Entombed & many others earned. Winter 1992 was spent in the studio recording their next release. Summer 1993, Drowned released a 7" EP entitled "Manifested Apparitions of Unholy Spirits", with a darker heavier sound.

After a 6 year hiatus, Deteriorot is set to return with all original founding members "Paul, Jon, Will", and with the addition of Oscar Matter (Ceremonium 1991-96) on bass. The next release will pick up exactly where "Manifested" left off. The Deteriorot sound will remain the same. All new songs are still written & arranged by Paul Zavaleta & Jon Brody. The classic feel and sound will still be there. The next coming year will be the busiest. Newly signed to Repulse Records a full length album "In Ancient Beliefs" will be released by Repulse in 2001.
