Formed in 1998, in São Paulo (Brazil) by Tiago (guitar), Alessandro(drums), Armando (bass), Gabriel (guitar) and Tarcisio (vocals). He band still with the name of Bulldozer starts to rehearse and to write their own songs. After a short period of time, Tarcisio quits the band and Tiago becomes the lead singer. Armando also quits but returns 8 months later. Through an ad on Rock Brigade Magazine the group finds out that there is another band already called Bulldozer and so decide to change the band's name to Dragster (a very fast and powerful racing-car). Dragster is the perfect definition for their sound, full of speed and heavy. During 1999, they write 14 songs. The band are deeply influenced by Metallica, Exodus, Slayer, Megadeth, Testament, Anthrax, Dream Theather, Dio, Black Sabbath, Motorhead and Iron Maiden are also strong referencies for the band. Right before they start recording their first demo, Alessandro quits the band. 2000 is a year full of ups and downs. On a site called Whiplash the band learn about a kid called Evandro Júnior, a fucking good drummer. Dragster start rehearsing againg and finally manage to record their demo entitled "New Times". The backwash of the demo is so good that Dragster are already preparing their first record for 2002.
