Biography:
The history of the group has begun at February 2004 when creation of project which could unite musicians from different counries who play folk and pagan metal idea has originated from some musicians. After a series of negotiations the possibility of this idea realization has become evident. In spring 2004 musicians of different countries have begun a musical material recording.
As a result were 60 minutes of music but because of series of objective and subjective reasons a part of the recorded material was lost and after a mixing album of 40 minutes total time has become a result of working. As mentioned above the recording sessions accomplished in different countries. Mixing and mastering was made by Magnus Wohlfart in Sweden in his own The Dungeon studio. In recording took place are: Dol Amroth from Greece, Ravenclaw from Lithuania, Forefather from England, Eluveitie from Switzerland, Hrossharsgrani from Austria, Yggdrasil, Nae`blis, Broken Dagger, Trymheim from Sweden. The lyrics of the album (in English) was written by Marios Kostoukos except Gryningssang in Swedish by Magnus Wohlfart. In September 2004 work on album was finished and the material for release was sent at Stygian Crypt productions.
In december of 2004 first album of Folkearth was released by strenght of Stygian Crypt productions.
After a long delay, the second FOLKEARTH album, entitled 'By the sword of my father', finally released 1-th of august!
More than 70 minutes of melodic folk / Viking metal, featuring a song cover of FALKENBACH's 'Heathenpride'.
This time the sound quality surpasses by far that of the previous album!
Many a new musician has joined FOLKEARTH for the completion of the second album, raising the total line-up to 31 musicians from 8 different countries.
Except the previous members, musicians from the bands VAN LANGEN (Germany), THIASOS DIONYSOS (Germany), HILDR VALKYRIE (Greece), DEATH ARMY (North Italy) THE SOIL BLEEDS BLACK, MOONROOT (USA)have worked on the second album. Additional arrangements done by PETTERSON & FREDRIKSON of GODRUN, ex OTYG (DANIEL FREDRIKSSON) (Sweden).
And of course musicians known from the first album, from the bands FOREFATHER (England), DOL AMROTH (Greece), YGGDRASIL, NAEBLIS, BROKEN DAGGER, SKALDEFADER, EVILDOER (Sweden), URUK HAI (Austria), have once again worked in this FOLKEARTH release.
