Another great Iced earth album. This is a collection of stories
about legendary creatures such as Jack the Ripper, The Werewolf, Frankenstein,& more
(Even Im-ho-tep is included now that the mummy is famous again). Jon Schaffer gives us on
"Horror Show", just what we would expect, Iced Earth signature riffs, chants and
just that style that has made the german band became a myth.To make this album worth the
wait (the last album was released long time ago),Richard Christy (who already has toured
with Demons and Wizards) and bassist Steve DiGorgio joined the gang. Richard's playing
doesn´t affect the band an inch, since he is master drumer. Specially on Wolf, the initial
track with solid double bass drumming. This album is as creepy as it sounds,so much so that
it just gives you chills up and down your spine(well not that much). To make it perfect,
there is also a Maiden cover, the incredible Transylvania which just had to be in the
album. So Iced Earth fans who expected another great album by the trash masters can
rejoice. This three years out from the recording studios may have seemed like a century,
but it was worth it.
Score:9/10
