Celesty-"Reign
of Elements" Arise 2002 |
Debut album from this finish guys and let me tell you it isn't bad. Their
style can be easily compared both to Sonata Arctica (Ecliptica era) and Dark Moor, 'cause
they mix fast rhytms and symphonic touches, something like what Kenziner (R.I.P.) did some
time ago. The album is no masterpiece, but it's certainly a good album. The technical
level of this youths (their average age is 21) and their future compositions wich
hopefully will abandone todays tendencies will led them to a more personal style and a
even brighter future. Skills they got. Well about the album itself, it contains 9 tracks
of speed heavy/power metal where the 8th track "Battle of Oblivion" stands out.
Also a great tune is "Sword of Salvation" a very Sonata Arctica/Nightwish song
with a great piano interlude performed by Juha Mäenpää. "Kingdom" is also a
great ballad that finishes the album. The only one who needs to work more on his
performance is the singer, althought he tries to develope a personal style he shows his
lack of experience in some songs (except "Battle of Oblivion" where he does sing
really good) I think I have been really clear about the similarity between this guys and
Sonata Arctica. They even invited Jani Liimatainen in "Revenge" where he
performs a fast guitar solo. |
