This time the band tries to show us that extreme music can be
enriched with dark, gloomy melodies and classical music arrenges (As in "Cruelty and
the Beast"). In "Bitter suits to Succubi" it gets even more noticeable, but
specially in the composition department and not just like intros or samples, completly
unattached to the guitars. Being this the difference between Cradle and other bands from
the genre. Although there were classical elements combined with generic metal ones in
earlier works of the band, where speed was the predominant factor, this time they slow
things a bit to build melodic ambiences, which seem to be taken from a thriller or horror
film. All this combined with black metal riffs and a vocal performance the way they got us
used to. Also being rhytmical slower, the dense parts go even deeper into the taste of
those who embrace darkness. To conclude, itīs a good album where you can find an
atmospheric, yet elaborated black metal, sometimes extreme and and sometimes dense or even
melancholy filled with a dark sense of anger where we can appreciate the bandīs evolution
all trough the evil process. What shows that a band can be avant-garde without losing the
essence of their roots.
