Hammerfall-"Crimsom
Thunder" NuclearBlast 2002 |
A new album from the well known power swedes. Althought I
liked "Renegade" lots of people said it was too "the same damn thing"
like they were out of ideas and trying to copy themselves. With this "Crimsom
Thunder" they shout everybody's mouth. Dronjak & Co. return to the basic heavy
metal essence that took many bands like Stormwitch, Riot or Accept to stardome. Hymns like
the titletrack "Crimsom Thunder" or "Hearts on fire" are 100% live
performance material with really catchy choruses and amaizingly heavy riffs. Althought the
album enjoys the lack of properly called "power metal" tracks, it doesn't loose
the signature Hammerfall sound. "The Unforgiving Blade" along with the amaizing
ballad give this "Crimsom Thunder" an 80's feeling not enough exploited in
previous albums of the band. This album is just great, pure heavy metal right to the bone
of the heavy metal fanbase of Hammerfall. If you like metal don't forget to pick this one
, it won't dissapoint you at all. Hammerfall is back and the templars are ready to kick
your ass! |
