KREATOR & DESTRUCTION
The
day, September 5th. The place, Ambassador theater in Lima. At this point nobody could say
that two of the best thrash metal bands ever were going to play in Lima. The people
begin to agglomerate since 5 o'clock in the afternoon, waiting for, maybe the best show
they've seen in their whole lifes. Every single rumor was at this time disipated, the
bands were totally confirmed. People from all around the country; Lima, Trujillo, Cuzco,
Arequipa, etc and some people from other countrys wait in line. Finally at 7:30 in the
night the headbangers enter the theater. We could see how everything was perfectly
produced, the stage, the awesome lights and the stands; t-shirt and beverage ones. Without
losing a second NECROPSYA began to play, altought some
technical difficulties, meaning saturated sound. They played songs from their outstanding
1993 demo "Slaves of the Magic" and some new songs to finish their show with "Children of the Grudge" wich was very applaused by the
audience who enjoyed half an hour of great peruvian thrash metal! It seemed we still had
to wait 2 more hours and see both Kranium and the great Mortem to see the german thrash legends, but Necropsya's singer
take the microphone and announced that the next band to perform was going to be DESTRUCTION. Everybody knew it was |

show what we were made of!. We had to wait some more minutes to see the lights go black
and finally hear the intro music.We could already see the Destruction members silhouttes!
Inmediatly the band started the show with their classic "Curse
the gods" making a gigantic mosh pit out of the Ambassador theater. The people
couldn't believe their eyes. Right after they played "Nailed
to the Cross" followed by some words by Schmier who presented himself to the
peruvian headbangers. Then they played "Bullets from hell",
"Release from agony" and "Life
without sense". Mark had some problems with the drums so they had to stop the
show for a brief pause. When everything was ok the continued with "Total
Desaster" & "The butcher strikes back"
in wich songs I had enter the mosh pit receiving some kicks and punches, but also leaving
some metalheads in terrible health condition! Schmier and company noticed the energy of
the peruvian audience to release all their thrash metal |

like "The antichrist", "Tears
of Blood", and some other songs to finish with the fantastic "Bestial Invasion". A really great show, with lots of
energy and power! The german band played a awesome show and promised to come back, to once
again devastate the senses of the peruvian bangers!!!. But if we were already tired
because of Destruction´s performance, NOW IT WAS TIME TO HEAR KREATOR!!!! |
 
| After a half an hour pause to solve some technical difficulties the lights
went black again to hear the first notes of "The
Patriarch" just to introduce KREATOR's latest
title track ; "Violent Revolution"
singed by every single person in the venue , making |

shake the foundations of the theater. Without wasting a second they would play "Reconquering the throne" to present themselves to the
peruvian audience, who were marveled by the the german thrashers' performance. Without
turning the light on,and just with a light behind them, the 4 black silhouttes played with
all their strenght and banging their heads like crazy; "Extreme
Agression", "People of the Lie", "All of the same Blood", "Servant
in heaven, king in hell" & "Phobia",
They said some words to the crowd to |

play "Coma of souls", "Terror
zone", "Terrible certainty" and "Black Sunrise". While some people went out of the mosh
pit, to watch the band more carefully, Mille Petrozza's band played "Lost",
"Riot of violence" and the amazing "Betrayer". We could see how the band discused something.
They decided they would play a song never before performed in the current tour.It was "UNDER THE GUILLOTINE" wich made the crowd explode!. With
almost 1 hour and a half of brutal thrash metal, it was almost time to say goodbye, so
Mille thought it was time to rise the falg of Hate so after a strident scream, Kreator
played my favourite song from the "Endless pain" album; FLAG
OF HATE and as a bonus song they finished with
"Tormentor". |
Finally
Mille thanked everyone who attended to the call of metal and throwed his guitar pick, wich
I cought in the air!!! What a souvenir for such an unforgetable night!!! Ventor will also
throw his drum sticks completing the best night of our lifes. Althought there were some
technical problems, this is from far the best show ever produced in Peru, and once more
thanks to the great work of PRODUCCIONES NACHO POP!!!
