This time we interviewed DARK MOOR from
Spain. They are being very succesful all around the world because of their extraordinary
album "The Hall of the olden dreams".They have almost finished their
forthcoming album "Gates of oblivion" wich i´m sure would be even greater than
the previous one.We wish them good luck! Here´s what Enrik Garcia, guitar & founder
of DARK MOOR answered in name of the band.
1.- Where does the idea of Dark
Moor comes from? When did the band begin?
The band was founded in Madrid, by me (Enrik). The idea was since the beginning to make a
band with international proyection, in Spain the bands don´t use to have a good sound.
Besides southamerica they don´t use to to have success anywhere else; our intention was
always to become the first spanish band to really become big in the international scene,
and at the time, I think we are doing well.
2.- Which are the band main influences?
We´ve been influenced by lots of bands, each member of the band brings their ideas, and
there´s a variety of bands and musical styles that we like, from Queen to Cradle of
Filth, but if there´s one group that everyone one us has always liked is Helloween(The
Hansen- Kiske lineup)
3.- Why being you a spanish band do you write your lyrics in english?
Well, like I already said our idea was to
succeed in Europe, Japan, etc. So to sing in english was fundamental. Anyway our music
sound better in this language,we considere it more melodic, and it fits better with our way
to compose

4. - How was both, press and fan
reaction to your succesful second album "The Hall of The Olden Dreams"?
It´s marvelous, every review has been positive, and the acceptance has been so
good all over the world. We hope to continue this success with our next release
5. - What can you tell us about your forthcoming album "The gates of
Oblivion"?
It´s a more mature work than "The Hall", the band is tighter now and
the experience we´ve achieved recording "The Hall" with Mr. Luigi Stefanini has
been very important to perform our music better. We´re very happy with the final product.
It sounds more Dark Moor than ever and we think that´s good.
6.-How were you contacted by JVC Japan?
This is more a matter of our spanish record label "Arise Records". so
this would be aquestion for them, but more or less it was because of the
repercussion of "The Hall..." in Japan that they called us interested about
editing our album in Japan and we were pleased, of course.
7.-Andreas Marschall made the album cover,¿Are you happy with his work?
Yes lots, the truth is that we think he is one of the best cover artists this days, and
his work fits with our music, I think it reflects completly the spirit of the band.
"The Gates of Oblivion" was also encharged to him, and to say the truth, it
seems to me that he has made an exceptional job
8.-I know you´re planning to tour Italy and Germany,¿Is there any posibility you
would come to southamerica?
It´s too early to know, we really want to, we know we have lots of fans at the other side
of the ocean and we would love to play there. But at the moment we have to devote
ourselves to play in Europe and lets see if we can arrenge something next year ...
9. - Thanks for the interview,Some final words for our readers?
I hope you get to hear our work and that you like it, if so, we´re already satisfied. A
big hug from Spain and we hope to see you soon! ! Thanks a lot! Bossk and Mighty Warrior
