We contacted
the brazilian band DRAGONHEART, wich album "Underdark" has received great
reviews and it certainly deserves them. Here´s what Eduardo Marques, the vocalist and
guitar of the band answered in name of the band.
1.- Who were you influenced by?
We are influenced by Blind Guardian, Savatage, Gamma Ray, Helloween,Accept, Grave Digger,
Judas Priest, Running Wild and thousands of 80's heavy metal bands.
2.- When are you planning to release your next production?
Our next album that is going to call "Throne of the Alliance" will be released
on October. We are in the last step of the record, mixing and mastering. It's our second
album and it is going to have many cool surprises. We signed with HT Records a new
Brazilian label and it will give the best Dragon Heart's work to our fans. The cover art
is going to be done by Andreas Marschall (Blind Guardian, In Flames, Hammerfall),
mastering and mixing in Europe, a Grave Digger bonus track and participation of a great
name of Heavy Metal will make this album,"Throne of the Alliance", a great
release in the second half of the year.

When Hammerfall came to Peru, Stefan Elmgren weared a T-shirt with your logo on and I´m
sure it wasn´t the other british Dragonheart; have you ever contacted them or played in
any gig together (I mean Hammerfall)?
Yeah. We've met them here in our hometown in Brazil and their concert was great.
We gave to Stefan this T-shirt and I'm very happy he was wearing it. The Heavy Metal bands
need to unite, this will make the true Metal more strong.
4.- Are you planning any tour soon (Brazil or abroad)?
In November or December this year, we'll tour most part of Brazil. In the next year we
want to play in whole South America and in Europe.
5.- When did all the confusion with the british Dragonheart started?
We've formed the brazilian DragoNHeart in 1997 and we released our first album in the
beginning of 1999. The british Dragon Heart has formed in the middle of 1999. We talked
with them in that year but they didn't want to change the name because they told me that
the brazilian DragoNHeart wasn't a well-known band. But in that time they didn't have
anything recorded and we had our album released in whole Europe and in Brazil. A couple
weeks ago our manager was in Germany, in Wacken Open Air Festival, and chatted with the
major labels there and with british Dragon Heart about it. Finally, after causing many
problems to us confusing our fans, they are going to change their name. Good Luck to them
and now the people will know who the real DragoNHeart is.
6.- What are the band plans for the near future?
Well, we are going to release our new album and in the end of the year we are going to
start our new tour around the world.
7.- Wich has been the greatest event you´ve been involved in?
Many cool and great things happened to us: The elections; "best of the year
2000", in the major Brazilian magazines, showed us that the band is well known. We
received lot of votes from heavy metal audience because of our first album,
"Underdark" and it was exciting. (5th best album, 5th best show, 3rd
Revelation). We played beside Nightwish, Labyrinth, Vision Divine.In our new
album,"THRONE OF THE ALLIANCE" the cover art is going to be drawn by Andreas
Marschall. It´s great because we´ve always been fans of their work, this is a dream come
true for us.
8.- Any final words for our readers?
First of all, I wanna thank for the interview and to all the people that talked with us by
letters and e-mails. I also would like to thank all kind of support that we received. It
is a great honour to represent the Power Metal. The Dragon Heart have always been a
faithful warrior to serve the True Metal!!!! Join us in the DragoNHeart's Barbarian Army.
