We interviewed INSANIA from Sweden, one of today´s greatest swedish bands.Their latest album "Sunrise in Riverland" should be in your hands now, if you have any idea of what true metal is. Here´s what Mikko Korsbäck, drummer of Insania answered in name of the band.

1.-How does the band feels their sound has changed, since "World of Ice" to "Sunrise in riverland"?
Well as you can hear, the sound is "cleaner" than on the World Of Ice- album, and we have to thank Mr Mikko Karmila for that. He did a great job ! We just told him that we wanted a sound that showed all our sides: The double guitar-solos, the strings and the classical orchestration-sound, the double bass-drum-hammering-sound... you know. And he told us that a sound between Stratovarius, and Helloween's keeper II would be the ultimate sound... Here we are with this new album :)

2.-The title says "Hymns from Insania Stockholm part two" is there any intention to release a 3rd part, like a trilogy or to go on(4th,5th,etc..)?
No, no third part is coming up. The "part I and II" title was because of Helloween. You see, we are all huge fans of "Roland & Company" so we wanted to do the same thing as they did (even if Roland was not in the band back then) during the late 80's. Helloween is maybe the biggest power/metal band in the world, and what they gave the world... we tried to follow the same line. But we also added the album titles World of Ice and Sunrise in Riverland to our "series".

3.-Being so many bands this days in Sweden, was it hard for you to make a name in the metal scene?
There were almost no power/metal bands at all in Sweden at the time when we recorded the domo-tapo of W.O.Ice, so at that time there was no problem for us to get signed with House of Kicks / MNW. Maybe we got signed because of Hammerfall. You see, they opened the doors for the rest of us, and now it's up to us what we want to show the world. But it's true that there are many bands in Sweden today. Now everybody wants to play heavy or power-metal. But it's not easy to sign with a record-company today. They want to earn some money with your music, so you have to be good at it.

4.-Are you planning any tour (europe or abroad)?
Yes, Tomorrow (Saturday) starts our Swedish tour. We are going through Sweden for about 8-9 maybe 10 shows. One show is in Mariehamn, Åland (Finland), on this tiny island between Sweden and Finland and after that show- back to Sweden...

5.-If so, might there be a chance to see you here in southamerica?
Yeah ! Why not... Seriously- We are in contact right now with an booking-agency, so we are planning to do some shows in Europe, and maybe south-america... But it all depends on how many albums we manage to sell in each and every country. But tell your people that Insania would gladely come to southamerica if you would want us there :)

6.-What are the band plans for the future?
Well, our future-plans are to produce more and more power/metal for the fans out there. We want to do this as fultime jobs, but it will take some time to get there even if we are on our way. So selling albums, doing live-shows and see the world from the stages I guess...

7.-Has any of you guys have any side projects
Well... I must say yes, but I don't really know how much I'm supposed to say. Henrik and Niklas have been helping a bass-player (unknown friend of ours) with his dream: To get a signed contract with one of the record-companies. I helped him too, but I got injured in a soccer game so I had to rest instead. I have a couple of offers from another swedish singer in a wellknown band, (Sorry, but I can not reveal his or the bands name.) to do some drumming on his next solo-album. And another offer from a swedish guitar-player who is planning to set up a band to play some fast and aggressive heavy-metal... But nothing is decided yet. I am also writing lots of guitar and piano music, since I like to play all the instruments, but I don't know if those songs will ever be released.. maybe one daý in the future. Then the world will see another part or another side of Mikko Korsbäck- the metal drummer... ;)

8.-Any final words for our readers?
Hell Yeah ! Keep your spirits strong and stay close to the only true music: Power Metal. Insania hope to see you guys and girls on a south-america-tour. Otherwise we'll see you when the sun rises in the Riverland... See Ya !
