We contacted METALIUM  from Germany. The great power metal band leaded by Lars Ratz is ready to release their latest album, the third chapter in their adventure now called Hero-Nation. In this album the metalians get into some of the most interesting moments of human history so you should check this one right after itīs released. Hereīs what Lars Ratz, bass guitar & mastermind of METALIUM answered in name of the band.

1.-What led Metalium to take part in the ABBA tribute, was this band an influence to you ?
That was an offer from Nuclear Blast. As we have been in the studio recording "State of triumph" our second cd we just recorded this for fun. I liked Abba when I was very young (around 10 years old). So it was funny for us.

2.- How has been the acceptance of both fans and press to your second album, "State of triumph- chapter 2"?

We were able to double our sales from Millennium Metal expecially outside Germany

3.- I know youīre are already planning a chapter 3, What do you expect with this new album? Can you tell me more    about it?
The new CD is called HERO-Nation chapter three and it will be out at 25th February. The German press is writing "this is the best Metalium album so far of all three". Don Airey (Ozzy O, Rainbow) and KEN HENSLEY (former URIAH HEEP) played Keys this time. COOL.

4.- What is the album about?I read that a track is about the incas
The Metalian travel to several areas of the world, experiencing adventures, tortures or successes of the historical human existence. This way the HERO's soul lives through a re-incarNATION of most historical figures and reflects the highest dramatic moments of their life time (We call this moment "HERO-NATION" so the word became the title the record) The Metalian soul dives into Nero (Italy), El Cid (Spain), Odin (Scandinavia), Jeanne D' Arc (France), Rasputin (Russia), Odysseus (Greece), the Loreley (Germany), experiences the history of the Incas and even will appear as Romeo meeting Juliet in Shakespeare's masterpiece.

5. -After Jack Frost and Mark Cross left, how is the situation with them? I think you already find a replacement for Mark, can you tell us more about him??
We are fine with them and often mailing back an forth. As they haven't been writers for Metalium nothing will change. All music was written by other persons. So don't worry about the quality ha,ha!

6. - I heard Tom Naumann played with you in some gigs.Is he joining the band for the next album?
He helped out the summer festivals and filled in for Jack. But we will stay 4-piece for the moment. The new line up feels very comfortable. For the first time in our existence we have a drummer who is also a songwriter, so for me this is an enourmous pool of creativity I can pick the best ideas for the Metalium albums.

7.-Is there any tour or important show in Metaliumīs near future?
We will tour Europe and hopefully also South America but this is not confirmed yet .Also Festivals as usual.

8.-What do you think about all those bands playing power metal this days, do you think itīs becoming a trend?
Trends come and go, so let's see what happens in some years. As long I'm leading this band we will stay METAL, don't worry

9.-Do you think metal is bigger now than in the 90īs??
YES

10. - Do you think that this decade will be better for both metal fans and musicians?
Nodody can tell the future, let's hope and see. Just keep the faith and
never surrender !

11.-Any final words for our readers?
We are looking forward to come over once in our life time to your country and kick serious METAL ASS !! Stay metal
