We interviewed PEGAZUS from Australia, one of my favourite´s Nuclear Blast bands.Their latest album, "The Headless Horseman" is scheduled to be released in February 2002. So expect more power and true metal,Pegazus well known style!. Here´s what Johnny Stoj, Pegazus lead guitar answered in name of the band.

1.-What happened with your drummer,we heard he had an injure,is he ok now?
Yeah, Robbie had a pretty severe injury in his groin area for nearly 2 years from what they call hernia...it is a bad tearing of the muscles and is very painful at all times. It became difficult to even sit down, so playing drums and playing lots of double kick drumming was becoming nearly impossible to do for more than 15 minutes. He is all fine and back to perfect health now that he has had the operation a few months ago...Robbie actually just finished recording all his drum tracks for the new album last week and I gotta say, that I have never heard him play better with so much more power and confidence...I think the operation was a success...hahaha :o)

2.-When do you expect to finish your latest album?
We have been in the studio now for 3 weeks and we are actually halfway there...we expect to finish the final recording in 2 weeks time, then we will mixdown and master it and the new piece of KILLER Pegazus metal will be ready to unleash upon the world of metal! :o) From our knowledge, Nuclear Blast Records is scheduling the new album for worldwide release in February 2002.

3.-What do you expect with this new album?
A hell of a lot of album sales hopefully....hahaha :o) No, really, it's just fantastic to be able to record a new album with a bunch of really cool fucking metal songs that we do know the fans have been waiting for so long and will really like very much, especially since it's been 2 years when 'Breaking The Chains' was released. This is also the first album with new vocalist Rob Thompson at the helm, and this in itself is very exciting for us because the band is really having so much fun together now and all we want to do is get our asses overseas to play some wicked fucking metal for some wicked fucking fans on 'The Headless Horseman Tour 2002'! :o)

4.-Are you planning any southamerican tour soon?
We would really love to come and play some shows in South America very soon. We are hoping that the new album will be very well recieved not just around the world but very much in South America like our previous albums! We do get quite a bit of mail from fans from all over South America and I think for us to play some shows there hopefully in 2002 on the "Headless Horseman Tour" will be one wild fucking time for all!

5.-Are you going to participate in any Thin Lizzy tribute album?
We recorded two Thin Lizzy songs last year while we were still looking for a new vocalist, so I sang them myself because Robbie and I used to be in a Thin Lizzy Tribute band in the very early 90's, so we definitely wanted to be a part of that. The songs we recorded were 'Warriors' and 'Jailbreak' and I think Nuclear Blast Records will release a tribute to Thin Lizzy album in January 2002...? I also wrote an actual song about Thin Lizzy's Phil Lynott which is a real tribute song called 'Ballad Of A Thin Man'...this will be on the new Pegazus album , also with me singing the lead vocals, as this was done just before Rob Thompson joined Pegazus. That particular song is very Lizzy sounding, full of great twin guitar harmonies and lyrics in a similar style to how I imagined Phil would write...we even sent that song to his mother Philomena Lynott, who wrote a personal letter back to us letting us know that she totally loved the song 100% and that, in itself was worth the effort of creating such a song! :o)

6.-How´s the new singer going?
Rob Thompson is doing absolutely fantastic and so far, the response that we have had from fans and friends all over the world who have actually heard the demos of our new songs, just love the traditional approach that Pegazus maintains even with a new vocalist such as Rob. His voice has slotted into the band like a hand fits into a glove... he was made for this role as the crazy metal mad frontman! :o) We have played a few live shows around Australia in the past year and we honestly have never had so much fun on stage as we are having right now and we really cannot wait to get out on tour and kick some serious ass together soon.

7.-Any final words?
Thanx for all your support always and I do hope that we not only will get over to South America to play some shows sometime in the near future, but it would also be fantastic to meet you and all the great friends and fans that this band has over there in South America...
