With their latest album (Black Sun) released only a few weeks ago, we interviewed Mat Sinner from PRIMAL FEAR. The great german musician answered our questions about Primal Fear, and the new Sinner album, between other things. We also asked him about his apperances in many shows in the last weeks. Here´s what Mat Sinner, bass guitar of both PRIMAL FEAR and SINNER answered.

1.-Is this new album,in your opinion, even better than  the great "Nuclear fire"?
The album is different - more music, more space for the musicans - of course for the guitarists. We worked even harder on Ralf's vocals. The songs have a different atmosphere and a different approach. Black Sun shows primal fear from a different side.

2.- Do you think you can surpass the success you achieved with your previous album with this new cd?

Of course, without that feeling we would never release a new cd. We have new alltime classics on the new album like "Armageddon", "Fear", "Mind Control", "Lightyears from Home" and others - We're sure that the fans will love this album!

3.-You've made a video for your song Armageddon can you tell us more about the making of it?
We shoot the video in Munich with a very respected company who produced now more than 160 videoclips. The video is a killer - great quality, good looks and a lot of power. It was shoot in an old wrecked factory.

4.- You will be touring with Rage, how's you relationship with them?
We know us very well - they are a great band with cool songs. Of course it will be a Primal Fear headliner tour, but with "Rage" on the bill, the tour will be even more great!

5. -You're going to make a south american tour, how important is for the band to play in this part of the world?
It is very important for us, cause in South America are the craziest and most loyal fans. The fun factor isn't that big, cause we're more in planes than in the countries, but we will take every free minute to meet the fans and see the countries.

6.-Which is the most important show you've made so far?
Too many to mention. Wacken open air 2001 was maybe the coolest show we ever did - Graspop open air 2001 and Gods of Metal 2001 too. Tokyo 1999 was fantastic too!

Primal Fear

7.-After this world tour, wich are the plans for the band?
We will work hard on new songs and we will start thinking about our fifth album for sure!

8.-You're also preparing a new album with Sinner, can you tell us more about it?
We will record the album in July & August. The album will be titled "There will be execution" and will be released through Nuclear Blast in January 2003. The album could be a very special one with the comebacks of two legends like Sinner/Saxon drummer Fritz Randow and guitarist Tom Naumann.

9.-Uli Kusch played in the last Sinner album, now he's releasing a new album with his new band Masterplan is he still a member of Sinner?
No, Fritz is back and that's great. Tthe original Sinner drummer and him have totally comitted and he is my friend - the same with Uli. The Masterplan album is a killer and me and Uli will always be friends. I wish him all the best with his new killer album!

10.-I heard you're going to participate in a Judas Priest tribute album, which song will you be playing and when is it gonna be released?
The Priest tribute will be released in August or September and we've recorded a classic version of "Metal gods" with Mike Chlasziak form "Halford" playing the lead guitar - I really like our version !

11.-With so many bands and projects how do you do to appear in award ceremonies (Hard rock) and tv shows (TV total)?
That's fun and always great to meet friends like I did in Paris and with Manowar in Cologne. The new manowar album is a killer too!

12.-How do you see the heavy metal scene this days, do you think it's becoming stronger than in previous years?
I can only speak for myself and I really enjoy my life at the moment as much as I can. I have a lot of great friends in other bands and the internal way of making music in Primal Fear is very relaxed. The guys are really cool and easy to work with!

13.-Any last words for our readers?
Keep the faith brothers of metal, we really hope to come to Peru in the near future to rock some real metal into your audiences!
