We contacted the spanish band TIERRA
SANTA, wich album "Tierras de Leyenda" has
received great reviews and it certainly deserves them. Classic metal to it´s peek.
Here´s what the band answered .
1.-Which are the band´s influences ?
All heavy metal and quality rock
2.-Since when does the band exists?
Since 1997. We have published 3 albums (Medieval, Legendario and Tierras de Leyenda) a
Video "Cuando la tierra toca el cielo" (+60 Minutes) With a Cd-single (two
unreleased tracks) And In October We´ll publish Our 4th Disc 'Sangre de Reyes' wich is
already recorded and We´ll start mixing it these Days.

3.- How´s
the support you receive from spanish media (not only metal press)?
Not counting the metal press, very little, because of the extensive tours we´ve done,
things get going and more important media (non metal) get noticed about us.
4.- Do you Think that with bands like Tierra Santa,or like Mägo de Oz, Avalanch,
Dark Moor, etc,we can speak of a new wave of spanish heavy metal (N.W.O.S.H.M)?
There´s avery strong heavy metal scene in Spain. Bands like; Easy Rider, Koma, Azrael,
Lujuria, Grass, Pyramid, Ankhara... and of course the well known Mägo de Oz, have done
that, after many years of hard work, the heavy metal has now a very important place in the
life of our Country. About a new wave, I believe there has always been heavy groups in
Spain, What happens is that now it seems that we have more rerpercussion outside our
borders.
5.- How has the audience answered to your latest album "Tierras de
Leyenda", and your first home video "Cuando la Tierra toca el cielo"?
Very well, with "Tierras de Leyenda" we had the opportunity to tour all
over Europe and to play in big festivals and all this singing in spanish (what seems
impossible, but true)With the video we wanted to pay a small tribute to our fans, that´s
why we published it on spanish and we also released it subtitled in english for the rest
of europe. It also includes two previously unreleased tracks.
6.- What meant to you to participate in the "Bang your Head" festival?
The greatest, it was incredible, we were still excited after sharing the stage wich such
bands like Judas, Stratovarius, etc... We hope to return and to keep growing in festivals
like this
7.- Do you plan any tour soon (Spain or abroad)?
We´ll start the tour in October, when our new album is released, we´ll tour all over
Spain and during November or December we´ll tour central europe. We also have offers to
go to america (North and south) and we are combining dates to visit you.
8.- Any final words for our readers?
