Kataklysm-"Shadows
and Dust" Nuclear Blast 2002 |
Kataklysm strikes back to
break every rule in the death metal book with their new "Shadows & Dust".
Anyone would think it's almost impossible to surpass the fantastic "Epic- The Poetry
of War". But it's really amazing to see how this guys don't run out of ideas.
Althought they're well known for their extreme brutality this time they combine such
skills with clearly european influenced melodies. A band like Kataklysm can fill their
music with difficult structures and nevertheless keep their essence and stay true to their
canadian death metal legacy. The best track is in my opinion "Where the enemy
sleeps" where you can apreciate this "musical evolution". dark, heavy
guitars, incredible drums and out of control solos make Kataklysm one of the most
incredible bands in death metal today. |
