This album brings us back to medieval times, an epic adventure you
shouldn´t miss. If you´re looking for headbanging material you must seek somewhere
else."The lasting power" is a tale of courage and strenght but more like a
chant, than like a metal album. The inspiration seems to be taken from ancient books of
mistery. This makes the album sound a bit softer than metal fans are used to, like in a
medieval fest; cool but not powerful. I like the folk ambiance they create, makes your
mind fly to the time of chivalry, but their lack of powerful riffs or lightspeed solos ,
like I said before, can bore lot of not folk metal fans. They could have used more doble
bass drums,or at least heavier riffs. But this doesn´t means it´s a bad album, but I´m
sure it would have been better if it was more energetic. What this album shows is, that
there are lots of great bands out there, with enough potencial to become the future rulers
of metal world, being this Thy Majesty´s first official release, we can just wish them
luck and suggest to kill the guy who did the cover cause it really sucks.
