The thrash metal legends are back. This time with a good record. I think
that finally Mustaine remembered who he is and realized that "Risk" was crap.
"The World Needs A Hero" is the heaviest Megadeth album since 1990´s "Rust
In Peace", it combines lots of heavy metal riffs with crazy solos performed
excellently by Dave Mustaine and Al Pitrelli ,remembering me the old Megadeth days.
The album strats with "Disconnect", a classic Megadeth tune with melodic vocals,
then comes the song that takes the name of the album which has a jazzy intro. But the best
tracks on this record are "Dread Man and The Fugitive", "1000 Times
Goodbye", "Burning Bridges" and specially "Return To Hangar",
which has a very fast part, with great solos, at the end of the song.
I consider "The World Needs A Hero" as the best Megadeth album since they
oriented their style to a more comercial direction in 1992 with "Countdown To
Extinction".Well, finally Megadeth is back, I hope they´ll continue in the
heavy-thrash metal path in the next years and forget commercial shit.
Score: 8.5/10
