Hades Almighty
The Pulse of Decay
Black Metal

Hades Almighty is a scandinavian black metal band. That might have sounded great in the early 90's but nowadays the term scandinavian black metal is so used it's almost a joke. Nevertheless they come from Norway and play black metal so what do you want me to call them. Anyway This album is a re-release of their first album wich never had proper distribution. I have to say first and foremost that this album is a very entertaining one. Each track has neat rythm changes and not the usual "true black metal cliches". The songs have a modern touch, giving the whole album an edge. By modern I dont mean nu-metal it just sounds clean yet raw. The guitars sound   dramatically intense (mid-tempo) while the doble bass drums serve as the  per-

fect background for the "sofisticated" architecture of the songs. There's something  about it that makes it very mystical, sort of a dark passage where you dont know what's coming next. As I told you before, it does not have the traditional black metal sound ( it has a lot of heavy and even death) but you can still recognize lot of the genres distinctive  characterisics, wich is good, at least in my humble opinion. To make things better it even has a Manowar cover (Each dawn I die). A truly interesting listening experience! and no romantic keyboards!!!!

Score 8/10
