Nightwish-" Century Child"

: Heavy Metal
Spinefarm 2002

After a long wait and a great album like "Wishmaster" it 's time for "Century Child" an album wich barely pairs to it's predecessor. It's really a shame how Tarja & co. have lost the "glow" they showed in "Oceanborn" ( for me their best album), album wich surprised not only me but also the finish and the whole metal scene with their musical technique never heard before. Althought Stratovarius and Nightwish represent two of the most important bands in Finland for a while now, this "Century child" will not surprise you since the first hearing, it was even hard for me to listen to the whole album 'cause the songs are just too simple and not as catchy as they used to be. Tarja's voice isn't  charming or sweet, and sounds a bit low compared to the sharpened guitars (for example in "Slaying the Dreamer") in this opportunity there aren't much keyboard solos, and the bass sounds like from another band in some parts, what I can't believe is how they get a gold record just two hours after the release, it's really amaizing!
Score: 6/10
