Celestial
Ode - " Celestial Ode " Independent 2002 |
This greek band surprise us with a heavy metal influenced
thrash metal with Testament and Helloween atributes. Weird? Well it's kind of weird indeed
but they achieve a potent sound wich for being their first release leaves everyone
satisfied. The first track "Merciless Attack" is a fast one filled with
tempo changes and great riffs. Then "Mind's Cells" and it's melancholic intro
make us remember previous Testament releases, maybe "Legacy" just to continue
with great doble bass drum lines and a completly heavy metal voice to acomplish a great
song. Then comes "The Altar" a very classic heavy metal influenced track with
heavier riffs wich lead to the proper thrash metal speed with a great bridge and amaizing
chorus. The fourth song ("The Loser") begins almost exactly like "Mind's
Cells" but this time without leaving the melancholic atmosphere untill the end of the
song. A classic northamerican thrash metal ballad in the line of Exodus, Laaz Rockit,
Violence, etc. To finish the helenic trio plays my favourite song of the album; "Keep
your religion" with lots of technique and velocity and great lyrics. To conclude, a
really promisisng band with lots of power and strenght |
