Album:"Silence"
Spinefarm 2001

Can your brain handle incredible fast keyboard and guitar solos? If yes, then you´re able to hear Sonata Arctica. "Silence", maybe one of the best releases of the year, long awaited second album of Finland prodigies is just great. There was almost no pause between each song with double bass drums pumping in your chest and inhuman finger speed at guitars and keyboards in "Ecliptica", but this time there is  great mid-tempo songs, smart composing and also speedy tracks (specially "Wolf and Raven"). Lyrically the band continues their unusual way of writing based on everyday experiences. Last but not least Tony Kakko´s voice is as sharp as in "Ecliptica". They sound better than ever, an solid enough not to be reminded as Stratovarius clones anymore. It´s been certainly a long way since their Spin doctors´covers era.
Score:8.5/10
