The EPIC POWER METAL band from Florence, Italy got some attention with their first CD, Champion Eternal, an album that got great feedback from all the metal maniacs around the world, becoming a cult release.

Champion Eternal was the starting point of a new life for the band, after many years on the underground scene. The band was not a new name when the debut album was released, having previously recorded four demo tapes, getting reviews and interviews in a lot of fanzines and magazines around the world. However, the line-up of the band drastically changed just before the CD, and this recording was really a new start. The new line-up of the group was Enrico Paoli on guitars, Riccardo Paoli on bow (the only ones left of the original line-up), Mimmo Palmiotta on drums (previously with Masterstroke and Death SS), and Morby on vocals (ex-Sabotage, Larox and session singer for Time Machine). The band has been compared by mags and fanzines to Manowar, Queensryche, Warlord, Omen, Helstar, Candlemass, and Iron Maiden. The band established its personal style with epic metal songs like "Stormbringer (The Black Sword)" and "Army of The Dead", and power metal assaults like "The Mass Of Chaos" and "The Midnight Meat Train". Some of the songs have progressive structures like the epic title track, "The Eternal Champion", a 12-minutes-long suite divided into seven parts.

The band was voted among the best Italian bands and best newcomers in all the Italian magazines, and got the third place as new band on the Greek Metal Hammer readers' poll (just after Hammerfall and Rhapsody). After the release of the album, Domine played some gigs, the best being the one at the Italian Gods Of Metal Festival in Milan, and the one as support for Rip and Grave Digger during their Italian tour.

Morby took the lead singer role in Labyrinth during their European tour with Hammerfall, getting unbelievable compliments by kids and journalists. He sang with both bands for a while just before the recording sessions for Dragonlord, when he came back 100% in Domine. Morby was finally rewarded with a cover story in the Italian magazine Power Zone.

The band decided to add a fifth member, Riccardo Iacono, who plays keyboards and guitar. He played his first gig with the band in Milan with labelmates Drakkar and Macbeth.

Dragonlord - Tales Of The Noble Steel is a firm statement. The band is not interested in trends and statistics; they strongly believe in what they play, and their plan for the second album was quite clear: improvement and power! All the songs on the album were written between July and December, 1998, except for three tracks written for the demo tapes and included in the new album with the new line-up, by demand of the fans.

The album was recorded at New Sin Audio Design studio (same studio used by Eldritch, Athens, Labyrinth, White Skull...). The studio has become a leading light for Italian heavy metal bands, thanks to the great skills of sound engineer Luigi Stefanini.

The sound of the group is a powerful mix of Epic and Power Heavy Metal, played with a feeling of grandeur and dramatic solemnity; a metal storm of duelling guitars, thundering tempo changes, soulful guitar solos and soaring vocals.

A few songs on Champion Eternal had some keyboards parts, but with the arrival of the fifth member, keyboards are used more to add majestic and epic atmospheres to the songs. The band spent the beginning of 1999 pre-producing the songs, and entered the studio in May.

Domine came out of the studio with 10 pure metal hymns. Songs like "Dragonlord (The Grand Master Of The Mightiest Beasts)", "Last Of The Dragonlord (Lord Elric's Imperial March)" and the 13-minutes-long "Battle For The Great Silver Sword (A Suite in VII Parts)" are the most EPIC tracks ever recorded by the band.
