BIO

1988 - Kai Hansen leaves Helloween and together with Dirk Schlächter and Ralf Scheepers founds Gamma Ray
1989 - The debut-album Heading For Tomorrow is released and immediately enters the Japanese TOP 20 charts.
1990 - Gamma Ray go on a world tour, in autumn 1990 the EP Heaven Can Wait is released.
1991 - The second album Sigh No More is released. It is as successful as their debut. Gamma Ray head for their second world tour.
1993 - Insanity And Genius, the third album, is released. Line-Up change: Thomas Nack and Jan Rubach replace Uli Kusch and Uwe Wessel. 1994 - Gamma Ray support Manowar and are declared The best support act ever by Joey DeMaio and Eric Adams.
1995 - Kai Hansen takes over the microphone again - Land Of The Free is released and enters the charts. European tour.
1996 - Alive '95 - a live-album - that mirrors the successful tour in 1995 is released.
1997 - Henjo Richter (guitar) and Dan Zimmermann (drums) replace Jan Rubach and Thomas Nack and play on the new album Somewhere Out In Space which enters the German, Japanese, Italian and Swedish charts.
1999 - Powerplant is recorded. Mid April the band tours Europe. Powerplant turns out to be very successful, it makes the covers of almost all relevant magazines in Europe. The album charts: #7 in Greece, #9 in the Japanese International Charts, #23 in Germany, #31 in the Japanese National Charts, #32 in Finland, # 43 in Italy, #45 in Austria, #51 in Sweden, #71 in the Czech Republic
2000 - Gamma Ray's new album Blast From The Past will be released later this year.
