The year 1999 has definitely proven that PINK CREAM 69 are still one of the best and most creative European Hardrock bands. Their 1998 album ELECTRIFIED showed a rewarding step back to the roots of the band as well as progression in musical competence and creative maturity. Their tour with BRUCE DICKINSON, the shows in Japan and South America and their brilliant show at the Bang Your Head!-festival in Balingen all show, that this band is really hot!
PINK CREAM 69 started back in 1987 with original singer Andy Deris. After winning the Metal Hammer Newcomers Festival in Ludwigsburg the band signed with major label Sony Music. In 1989 the debut album PINK CREAM 69 was highly acclaimed and the band continued by touring as the support for WHITE LION. In 1990 the band toured in the US for the first time among with many other live-shows. The second album ONE SIZE FITS ALL (1991) reached high chart positions in Germany, Switzerland and Japan, and was followed by the bands first headliner tour in Europe and Japan, where Sony released the EP 49/8. During this tour the band tapes their first live video SIZE IT UP! LIVE IN JAPAN (1992), followed by a three month tour with rock band EUROPE through 14 countries. The third album GAMES PEOPLE PLAY (1993) is followed by another German tour and also reaches high chart positions. In 1994, original singer Andy Deris leaves the band to join HELLOWEEN and is replaced by British singer David Readman with whom the band records their fourth album CHANGE in Los Angeles with producer Shay Baby. The following year sees another headliner tour with THUNDERHEAD and singer David Readman is perfectly integrated and fully accepted by fans and press. After six years PINK CREAM 69 and Sony Music part ways.
1997 the fifth album FOOD FOR THOUGHT is released through High Gain Records followed by yet another tour and some festival appearances. In autumn, the first PINK CREAM live album is released. With the follow-up ELECTRIFIED, the band releases their strongest album until then, on which David Readman proves his worldclass format. After the european tour with BRUCE DICKINSON the band plays a legendary show at the Bang Your Head! -Festival.
In 1999 the band tours Japan again together with D.C. COOPER and start the recordings of the new album SONIC DYNAMITE, only interrupted by a short South American tour and an appearance in a German TV-movie.
To find the words to describe SONIC DYNAMITE is easy: The album portrays all the important PINK CREAM trademarks, at the same time it's melodic but satisfyingly heavy, well arranged and perfectly performed. Up-tempo rockers like SONIC DYNAMITE and SEAS OF MADNESS meets grooving mid-tempo boosters like WAITING FOR THE DAWN or LOST IN ILLUSIONS. The band shows their artistic depth and detail with songs like THE SPITIT and FOLLOWED BY THE MOON. No PINK CREAM album would be complete without soul touching ballads, this time called LET THE THUNDER RESIDE and SPREAD YOU WINGS. Things look great for PINK CREAM 69 in 2000, after the album release the band will tour Europe extensively with their new label-mates AXXIS. A package, which is undoubtebly an event rock-fans will not leave unseen.
