In '94 Aes Dana was created by Taliesin (guitar) and Amorgen (tin
whistle and flutes). Vidar (vocals)and Storm quickly joined the
band. 2000: Aes Dana entered studio to record its first MCD. The
band decides then to incorporat new traditional instruments to the
music and Amorgen starts to mix the sonority of a medieval
bombarde to the new tracks.
The name:
Aes and Aes Dana: The word in Old Irish for `people' or `folk'.
Aes Dana, means the people of the gift. The skilled men of early
Irish society, whose hereditary or demonstrated skills in law,
medicine, history, music, masonry, carpentry, metalwork - but
primarily in poetic composition. |
