Info:
Lord Weird Slough Feg
play a unique brand of 80's-inspired choppy, chaotic metal, that
is somewhat difficult to describe. Their Celtic and folk
influences are the most unique of many diverse influences. The
Slough Feg repertoire ranges from hyper-kinetic instrumental
frenzies (Warpspasm, Blarney Stone) to over-the-top prog-rock
opera (Down Among The Dead Men) to folk-metal reels (The Red
Branch) to balls-out heavy punk rock 'n' roll (Highway Corsair,
Why Not) and beyond...
The name:
The band's name, Slough Feg, or more formally, The Lord Weird
Slough Feg, is derived from a character in ancient Irish
mythology. Those myths, as recounted in the historical tome known
as the Ta'in Bo Cuailgne (thawn bo quel'gny), provide the fodder
for many of Mike's lyrical topics, although subjects such as
mental evolution, moral mastery, and your basic misery and madness
also tend to crop up, even when not related to mythology.
