Burning Shadows was formed in 2000 by Tim Regan and Brian Knesel. The two found Greg Jones and Vincent Vinh in March to complete the lineup and write the prototypical Burning Shadows tunes now lost to the ages. The band stuck together for 4 years on a rather unstable ride through writing, recording, gigging, and arguing endlessly. This time saw the release of The Darkest Winter EP and the conception of Amongst the Dying Waves. Brian Knesel left the band shortly before the band was to play the Classic Metal Fest 3 in Chicago during the summer of 2003. The band ultimately cancelled the gig. Shortly following this fiasco, Vince was removed from the lineup as well. With an unreleased EP on the shelf and half a band missing, Greg and Tim concentrated on other projects. The summer of 2004 saw Greg touring with Strong Intention all over the country and the international touring escapades of Tim's side project Recently Vacated Graves: True Zombie Metal. When the two guitarists returned from their misadventures, the fires of the Shadow were blazing anew. Matt Ibach and Mr. Trevor von Deathcrush were recruited in early Fall of 2004. With brand new material as well as repolished older songs, Burning Shadows began to stage its triumphant rise from the ashes. As quickly as the band had found its complete lineup, it faced a loss in the closing months of 2005 when Trevor decided to leave, merely a small obstacle in the path of the soldiers of steel. Longtime friend of the band Dave Spencer was called in to perform with the band and record the drums for the band's debut album. The Spencehammer returned to Indiana upon completion of the album to concentrate on his studies. The almighty Alex was brought in in late August to fill the still-warm throne behind the kit. The Shadows now blazing darker than ever, the band is ready to conquer the false and claim what is rightfully theirs.
