DREAM EVIL Records is an Italiam record label who are just starting their rise to prominence in the world of Heavy Metal. Born out of DREAM WARRIORS Zine,both Metalucifer and The Reaper are die-hard metal fans and excellent writers (check out DREAM WARRIORS and tell me it isn't a great zine...it is to me anyways.). I was happy to conduct and interview with these guys...we seem to be alot alike. Check it out,then check out their work in both the zine and the record label...you won't be disappointed.

C.O.-How exactly did the Dream Warriors Zine come about? What made you want to
start the zine?
Heavy Metal must be pure with bass, guitar and drum and voice. For us Heavy
Metal is more important spirit than technique, a band has to keep on the
same genre.
You see Anvil, they are a great Heavy Metal band, they play Metal from many
years, but they have not had big hit. However Lips & Company keep on to
play Heavy Metal and they have always had a Die Hard Spirit !!! We are in
the same line.
C.O.-How did you guys get together to write the zine? How long have you guys
known each other? How long have you guys been fans of metal?
C.O.-What made you guys start Dream Evil Records? Why did you choose
StormWarrior as the first band to release a record by?
DW: Dream Evil Records was born in 2001. The beginning were only a label,
our dream was produced Vinyls, today it is realised. Dream Evil Records want
to support bands of Heavy Metal Spirit. It is not important the genre, we
like all Metal (Classic, Epic, Power, Speed, Thrash, Death, Black), but we
want to have bands of quality, fuck the quantity.
After some month that we created the label we decide to make mail order too,
we sell new lps, cds, second hand (lps, cds), fanzine, t-shirt from all
world.
Two years ago we received the first demo of Stormwarrior "Metal Victory".
Immediately we love they, their sound is fantastic, and they have a pure
Heavy Metal spirit. They play true Teutonic Speed Metal, our favourite kind
of Metal. Today there are few bands that play Speed Metal. These are the
reasons.
C.O.-What bands are you interested in releasing material by right now? Are you
guys interested in re-releasing older records by older bands?
DW: Today we are working on two projects, the first is a seven inches of
French Imperial. They play Death/Thrash Metal. It will be called "Moonblood
(Ten Years Of Imperial)". This 7" will contain four songs, two unreleased
songs "Cannibale" & "Le Mange-Crottes", the first song of the band "Dark"
(never released), the first version of "L'Enferme". "Moonblood (Ten Years
Of Imperial)" will be in red vinyl and it reppresent the anniversary of ten
years of life of Imperial. It will be avaible from one or two months.
The second project will be a split 7", the bands are American October 31 of
great King Fowley (also Deceased & Doomstone) and German Metal Inquisitor
(great Heavy Metal). Today we don't have also choose the cover and the
songs.
Yes, we are interested to repress in cd, limited in 500 copies, two works of
great Mittleuropean Steel Crown, legendary Heavy Metal band from our land.
They have recorded only one lp and one mlp, after this the singer was dead.
This is only a idea for the future.
We will want to produce many bands, but we don't have money!!!
C.O.-How exactly do you guys decide who to interview? Are there bands you
refuse
to interview?
DW: We interview bands, that like us or band that liked us. We looking for
to interview leader of the band or founder of it. We interview sometime
labels, producers.
Yes, some bands don't answer us, an example are big band as Whiplash,
Dismember, Infernal Majesty or underground band Baron, Blizzard (Ger).
C.O.-How has the response to both the zine and the label been so far?
DW: Both are excellent. We hope on future, that is the same of precedent
release, all sold out hahaha!!!
C.O.-What can we expect from the next issue of Dream Warriors? Did the
inspiration for the name of the zine come from the third "Nightmare on Elm
Street" film?
DW: The next number will be this interview:

and demos), more a compilation cd of underground band inludes on cd.
Yes, we have taken from movie, we like Dokken song, the Dream Warriors'
s video is
cool. We like many horror, gore, spatter movies. The next number will be an
section of review on Italian Gore movie. Zombie Attack!!!
C.O.-Is it hard to run both the zine and the record label? What do you guys do
for a living to support both activities?
DW: Yes it is hard, we are harder than steel!!! Guys work on both are
Metalucifer and Claudio The Reaper.
C.O.-Do you hope someday to make Dream Warriors a monthly or bi-monthly
magazine?
DW: No, we hate the magazine, we want to be a fanzine, we don't want to
earn, we will hope Dream Warriors is out each 6 months.
C.O.-I know you guys like beer...so if you could rink(=drink) any brand of
beer for the rest of your lives,which kind would it be?
Metalucifer: My fave is Augustiner!!! Bavarian Beer Rules!!!
The Reaper: Weizen Franziskaner and Weizen Augustiner: pure gods nectar.
C.O.-How strong is the metal scene in your area of Italy? Have you ever heard
of the band Hyades?
DW: No in Italy there are not Metal Scene, there are many bands, but they
are not good , it is not as Chicago. Now good bands are Necrodeath, Handful
of Hate, Doomsword, White Skull, Domine, Hatework, Vexed. In Italy there are
fews true Metalheads. We live in Mittleuropa, a land that includes
Austria, Rep Czech, Slovenia, Croatia, Slovacchia, Hungary, Gorice and
Triest (where we live). Once time this lands under Austrian Emperor,
unfortunately after World War I, the Austrian Emperor is dissolved , the
culture still exist.
In Mittleuropa there are many true Metalheads. In
Europe the land where is real Metalic culture is the Germany, then to
follow Scandinavia, Poland, Greece, in France and Iberia is as in Italy,
instead in Uk the scene and Metalheads is dead.
No we have never listen to Hyades.
C.O.-What are your ten favorite bands? If ANY BAND can
re-unite and play,who
would you choose?
Metalucifer: I like many bands, I have a difficult to choose the top ten of
ever, I' m love real Metal,
My favourite genres are Speed/Thrash, Death, Old Black Metal, and
N.W.O.B.H.M.
The Reaper: Manilla Road, Blind Guardian, W.A.S.P., Saxon, Accept\Udo, Judas
Priest, Anvil, Ozzy, Not Fragile, Grave Digger.
DW: About the reunion, we don't like the reunion for money, you see
Destruction, Venom, Black Sabbath, Mayhem. then many reunions take mediocre
album, you see Mercyful Fate, Paradox, Accept. We are agree with reunions,
a good reunion is been that of Grave Digger. We like reunions of bands that
play only in Festival as Wacken, Bang your Head. you see Nasty Savage,
Warrant (Ger), Heathen
Metalucifer: Nobody, I would come back in eighties.
The Reaper: Steel Crown (Ita), Rainbow and Warlock
C.O.-What do you guys do for fun in Italy? Are there any metalfests in Italy,or
do you have to go to Wacken and Dynamo?
DW: We like to play soccer, we like drunken, we like play a videogames, we
like to make sex. In Italy there are Metalfest the biggest is Gods of
Metal where there are about 30.000 people (you see Iron Maiden, Kreator,
Gamma Ray but also shit as Rammestein, Pantera, Skilpnot) then there is No
Mercy Festival (this is a Black/Death Metal festival, you see Deicide,
Immortal, Cannibal Corpse, Marduk, where ther are about 3000 people) then
there are many "little" festival.
We prefer to go to Wacken, We were there last year, it was great!!!
