FALCONER s/t

Man!!! this is real metal, very good cd, an excelent cd. i will start by telling u, that this is a 10 rated band, all the disc is a piece of art, The vocalist Mathias Blad have a very special voice[its like if a minstrel sings all the songs] too dramatic,too special to tell, u need to feel and listen it. Some folk influences, some floutes, a very good double bass. The songs are like a poem of war, they play the epic metal style, i can feel some iron maiden influences too. The guitarrist[main songwrither]Stefan Weinehall and the drummer Kursten Larsson are ex member of a viking metal band called mitothyn, but now they are Falconer, welcome to power metal.

listen to: Wings of serenity, Mind traveller and Substitucional World, but heres a warning, those are adictive songs..

FALCONER- "CHAPTERS FROM A VALE FORLORN"

This guys from Falconer continue with their style, this is a good cd, not so good as the debut album, but this disc have the touch to catch you, if you have the first one, you need this too, Mathias Blad enriches the music with his voice and makes it more enjoyable, they start with -decadence of dignity- a mid tempo songs, the worse thing on this cd is the fact that is only 40:43 minutes of playing, too short for my hunger, but ok, what can i do. The highlights: decadence of dignity, For life and liberty, The clarion call[this song worth all the album, a very good song] the power balad portails of light.

ADAGIO- "SANCTUS IGNIS"

For the lovers of power, progressive-simphonic metal. Great cd, for those into Malmsteen and simphony x, this cd is a must have, there's no skip songs, each of them have something for everybody, keyboards are delivered by Richard Andersson[majestic] and the good and impressive gitarrist Stephan Forte[neo-classic style]What about the vocalist?, yeah hes good on the vocals, its David Readman from a band called Pink cream 69[great range, very good]. To my taste of music they deserve a 10, but u decide!

BLIND GUARDIAN- "A NIGHT AT THE OPERA"

What can i say of the masters of epic power metal? this record is great. Very fast, very melodic, the first song precius jerusalem, damn good, more of 60:00 minutes of playing. This cd, have a song in spanish -mies del dolor[harvest of sorrow]it shows a latin hansi kursh, well i speak spanish, but, man?, whats he's saying? lol.. ok its a good try, blind guardian, the gods give u a 9 of 10...

JACOBS DREAM: "Theater of War"

One of my favorite bands in the scene its without a doubt, JACOBS DREAM. Their style ranges from traditional metal to simple metal. If you want originality, you will not find it in this band, but their compositions are good when it comes to emotions. It seems that the vocalist, Mr. Taylor, got sick before he record this album, and with the album already scheldlued, he feels better and start recording this album. Thats the reason why he sounds a bit diferent from the previus releases. JACOBS DREAM deliver 9 songs to my taste of music; the highlights are: sanctuary,traces of grace, and critical mass,and a special mention of wisdom and sarah williams, who came in the first release of JD when they didnt have a metal blade contract.., a cristian metal taste on they lyrics, good songs of confidence in a divine person and the decadence of mankind. A good band, good composition, and a very special vocalist in the TATE, KISKE range, but with his own touch and emotion. This album its for a die hard metaler, so if you have a short criterium guy stay away from this album....this for redbone metalers, with a special taste!....

ARCHONTES

I got a cd, of a band from russia, they are ARCHONTES and they play symphonic power metal. The vocalist is high pitched,reaching the high notes with amazing skill and the music its great. They sing tales of swords and kings.Its a four piece band and the vocalists last name is archont and he also plays keyboards.

Its great to know bands with quality like this still exist. They take you to a place were all things can happen. The music along with the lyrics catch you in a atmosphere of melody and power with great choruses and a mix of sentiments and feelings of hunger and melancholy and hope of a better tomorrow,for the warrior that is described in the songs. I hope they have a deal with some international company, like the band MENTAL HOME from Russia that is on Century Media.

Once again, Russia can be a place of many histories of fights, warriors and people with courage. Its great that Archontes sing in English with an accent which is enjoyable and giving their music a touch of ancient feelings. I give them 8/10....for all the lovers of power metal in the vein of STRATOVARIOUS,HEAVENLY and a touch of RHAPSODY.........blackdragon solis

SEVENTH AVENUE: "Tales of Tales"

This music is fantastic; powermetal HELLOWEEN style. SEVENTH AVENUE is a Christian band from Germany, and you have to hear them.The drums sound classical influenced, the guitars sound GREAT...just the stuff we love. And the vocalist is like no one I've ever heard before. High/mid-ranged vocals...sounds GREAT!!! The title track "Tales..." is very catchy...strong chorus and all HELLOWEEN like guitars. Check it out!!
