For many fans Annihilator has always been the silent hero of thrash metal. They never got the same attention as Megadeth, Metallica or Slayer, but when musical critics predicted the end of thrash metal by the end of the 80’s, they shut their mouths with one of the most intense thrash metal releases ever – “Alice in Hell”. Annihilator’s next offering, “Never, Neverland”, was a proof that the greatness of their debut was not a matter of coincidence – the album delivered the same sheer thrash madness, backed up by some extremely melodic riffs and solos. Since the release of their critically acclaimed debut album, Annihilator released several other albums, “Metal” (2007) being the latest one.

With the new album "Metal Minds" new fuel is added to the regrowing flame of 80ies Speed/Thrash Metal. Release will be in the 1st quarter of 2009.

Satan is one of the most important groups that emerged in the early NWOBHM era. Their unique mixture of heavy and power metal spirit with thrash riffage brought a handful of unforgettable tunes and revolutionized heavy music as we know it. “Court in the Act” is their debut release and in the same time their highlight. Ten tracks (including the intro) and over 40 minutes of music that was absolutely groundbreaking for a 1983 release. Satan managed to come up with a sound that was way ahead of their own time. The songs were melodic, but in the same time very aggressive – a sign of an upcoming revolution. Both guitarists, Russ Tippins and Steve Ramsey, delivered a truly amazing performance – although their styles were completely different, the duo managed to perfectly balance their playing and introduce a handful of timeless riffs and solos. The best example of the band’s impressive guitar virtuosity can be heard in the sharp and heavy tune “Break Free”, which features a dazzling 3-minute solo. Other highlights include the intensive “No Turning Back”, the atmospheric “Alone in the Docks” and the epic instrumental track “Ritual”.
“Court in the Act” remains one of Satan’s best releases, as well as one of the most unappreciated – even though the album hit the stores immediately before the thrash metal explosion, being somewhat a pioneer on the scene, it failed to gain the proper popularity it deserved. Most critics claim that this LP was just a bit too much for the average listener in 1983, when even such bands as Judas Priest and Iron Maiden played music nowhere near as dynamic and aggressive as Satan.
Now, thanks to this exclusive re-edition of “Court in the Act”, you can once again experience one of the best releases in the history of metal! After 25 years, this album still possesses the same force it had on the day of its premiere – a force that cannot be denied… New digipack edition includes 3 bonus tracks. This epic concept album based on Nordic mythology has quickly become a milestone in the group’s career. The LP managed to perfectly capture the spirit of the epoch, introducing monumental tracks such as “High Treason” and “The Roman Empire” and coupling them with the atmospheric, “evil-sounding” tunes like “Anubis The Jackal” and “The Mangler”. Once again White Skull delivered brilliant musicianship backed with De Boni’s passionate voice, creating an ultimate power metal masterpiece.

“Power Of Hunter”
Re-release of Tank's second studio album from 1982. The album, released during Tank's tour alongside the immensely popular band Diamond Head, featured a fairly similar musical style as on the debut, although some of the material was definitely slower and more rock-oriented. One of the main reasons for that was the constant comparison of the band to Motörhead, which after some time became really annoying for Tank. Incl. "Walking Barefoot Over Glass" and "T.A.N.K." - true highlights for Tank. New edition includes 3 bonus tracks!
“This Means War”
Re-release of Tank's third studio album from 1983. The album to this day is considered one of Tank's best releases. It showed a definitely heavier side of the band, revealing also some more ambitious compositions. A good example of Tank's progress is the use of keyboards, something that would be fairly impossible on the previous album. With "This Means War" the group proved that they were a far more serious act that they might have been perceived - songs like "Just Like Something From Hell", "Hot Lead Cold Steel" and "(If We Go) We Go Down Fighting" were masterfully written and showcased some very impressive skills of all of the band members. New edition includes 3 bonus tracks!
“Honour & Blood”
Re-release of Tank's fourth studio album from 1984. This time Tank took out all the commercial elements from their music - keyboards or over-melodic interludes completely disappeared. Features the surprising cover version of a 60's soul/r'n'b classic by Aretha Franklin - "Chain of Fools" and the characteristic "W.M.L.A.", strongly differing in style from the rest of the material. New edition includes 1 bonus track!
All three titles were digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on golden disc. The release date is scheduled for 22nd September 2008 in Europe and 28th October 2008 in USA (via MVD).

Today a power metal icon, Steel Prophet managed to overcome all the obstacles and reach their goal, blessing the metal scene with a handful of unique and unforgettable albums. Metal Mind Productions presents the exclusive re-release of 3 Steel Prophet’s albums: “Dark Hallucinations”, “Genesis” and “Book Of The Dead”.
"Dark Hallucinations" (1999) is one of their finest works to date, showing the band at the peak of their musical skills. With this album Steel Prophet ultimately proved that their place is among power metal legends such as Iron Maiden or Fates Warning. Lyrically, "Dark Hallucinations" was a concept album, based on the book "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury. The unique atmosphere of a world stripped from beauty and love lingers in each song, drowning the listener in a sea of dark melancholy. The final track on the album is an amazing cover version of "The Apparition" by one of Steel Prophet's heroes - Fates Warning.
"Genesis" (2000) is the compilation album containing all tracks off Steel Prophet's first demo, as well as additional cover tunes recorded over the years. All the amps and drums were in the same room and it was done almost 'live' in a couple days. The tape sold really great in Europe and can be credited with kicking off the band's career. Apart from the material from demo, "Genesis" includes cover version of tracks by bands like Accept ('Fast As A Shark'), Iron Maiden ('Gangland' & 'Ides Of March/Purgatory'), Metallica ('Fade To Black'), Judas Priest ('Dreamer, Deceiver'), Black Sabbath ('Neon Knights') or Simple Minds ('Don't You Forget About Me').
The 2001 album, "Book of the Dead" was their most versatile, complete and mature performance to date. The material from "Book of the Dead" captured the essence of all previous releases, and with it's eight songs showed all the best qualities of this dream team. The album was definitely a course in intelligent heavy metal. "Book of the Dead" enhanced and solidified the position and the popularity of Steel Prophet. The history of Steel Prophet is therefore the history of a band, which proved that with hard work, integrity, a progressive attitude, and an iron will their goals could be achieved.

Metal Mind Productions presents the complete discography of the legend of Polish hard & heavy scene – Turbo. The deluxe box entitled “Anthology 1980 – 2008” summarize the twenty five years of Turbo with Grzegorz Kupczyk as the vocalist. To make the band’s image as clear as possible, some of the albums in this box have been enriched with additional recordings, and for those seeking out rarities, we prepared two CDs filled with previously unreleased, unknown and forgotten tracks recorded by Turbo in their time of “mistakes and travesties” – some of them a bit weird, some of them a bit funny. On “Dorosłe Dzieci” you can hear the live version of “Fabryka Kleksów” and see the video clip for “Szalony Ikar”. “Smak Ciszy” includes radio versions of some of the songs, while “Tożsamość” features two tracks in their English versions. The two “additional” CDs in the set are a real sensation – mostly because of the fact that for the first time ever many fans will have a chance to hear Turbo from the period between “Dorosłe Dzieci” and “Smak Ciszy”. You’ll find out that these tracks are not really that bad as the musicians used to talk about them in past interviews…

The releasedate for the 3rd quarter is now set. We will release 2 albums, which we already announced some time ago.
We start with CROM, the name of the album is "Vengeance". Musically you can expect Epic/Viking Metal in vein of BATHORY'S "Hammerheart", "Twilight of the gods" and "Blood on Ice". It has been created by Walter "Crom" Grosse, which is known as ex-guitarist of one of Germanys most known Black Metal Bands, DARK FORTRESS.
Album Nr. 2 was created by the Iranians ANGBAND. It has been "baptized" to the name "Rising from Apadana". The early albums of ICED EARTH and DEPRESSIVE AGE you can take as the musical direction. Although the unusual homecountry (for a metalband), guitarist/bassist Mahyar Dean is not unknown in the scene. Some people might know him as the author of the official bandbiographies of DEATH and TESTAMENT. I think it is unnecessary to mention that the situation for the band is not the easiest in Iran, because any kind of Heavy Metal is forbidden there. So it's a special pleasure and honor for us to provide a platform to the guys, which probably no Iranian metalband got up to this day.
Both albums will be available on 29th August.

Welcome to the latest Arkeyn Steel newsletter where you will find some cool updates. First of all we must point that the "secret" release of Arkeyn Steel Records which was a big question for all of you, unfortunatelly has to be cancelled. We had almost completed the deal with the band, but on the last second there was a disagreement between the band members. To cut a long story sort, there was actually one member that -for his own reasons- have not given the final permission for the release to happend, it has to be cancelled. We will not going to announce the band's name because we do not want to spread any bad attitude. They would probably have a better luck with a future deal and of course we wish it to them.

After these two releases the group continued their career with various line-up changes (eventually leaving guitarist Jeff Waters the only original member), but every album recorded after 1990 had a totally different vibe than the first two releases. Perhaps that was the reason why in 1996 Roadrunner Records decided to put out a live album covering the period from 1989 to 1990, by many fans considered Annihilator’s strongest years. “In Command” brilliantly captures the band at the beginning of their musical voyage, when all that mattered was the joy of playing thrash metal and kicking some ass!

Metal Mind Productions presents the first live DVD release of Oliver Wakeman, the oldest son of Rick Wakeman (Yes), one of the best keyboard players in the history of progressive rock.
Oliver Wakeman is a great prog-rock musician known for his many artistic collaborations, including the one with Clive Nolan (Pendragon, Arena, Neo, Caamora), which resulted in the creation of two genuine masterpieces of the genre: “Jabberwocky” and “The Hound of the Baskervilles”. Oliver Wakeman already has a cult status in the progressive rock community. He was acclaimed both as a solo artist and as part of various musical projects by fans and by critics (in January 2008 Oliver was presented with the Classic Rock Societies Keyboard Player of the the Year award!). His latest studio project – album entitled “Mother’s Ruin” from 2005 - marks a progression in Wakeman’s musical career. The album sees a change in direction from Oliver’s recent instrumental releases and draws heavily both from his progressive roots and also the experience performing live with his band. It’s a collection of hard-edged yet melodic songs, showcasing Wakeman’s writing skills. The album also allows room for the dynamic instrumentation which has become a trademark of his work.
In mid March Yes confirmed their world-wide tour with Oliver Wakeman taking the position of the keyboardist.

In the entire history of thrash metal there are some names which simply cannot be omitted. Metallica, Megadeth, Testament – these are classics among thrash groups, often referred to as top representatives of the genre. However, there is one band that was constantly being thrown off the pedestal, although they certainly belonged there. Meet Flotsam and Jetsam, the five-piece from Phoenix, Arizona – a true thrash metal legend, unjustly underrated by the mainstream, but to this day gathering a loyal fellowship of fans. Solitude Aeturnus - one of the most respected names in the doom metal field with a style that borrows from classic doom as well as progressive metal. Formed in the spring of 1987, Solitude Aeturnus are still pummeling souls into doom metal submission! Robert Lowe's haunting vocals, unbelievably heavy and slow riffs, strange melodies and sublime compositions - all this complemented by the band's desperate, insane, theatrical yet profoundly personal appeal.
This legendary doom metal band from US returns today with two albums re-released by Metal Mind Productions - “Through The Darkest Hour” and “Downfall”.
“Through The Darkest Hour” - Solitude Aeternus’ third full-length release from 1994. Finnish Folk metallers KORPIKLAANI have recently filmed a video for the song "Metsämies", taken from the group's forthcoming album, "Korven Kuningas". Commented director Sami Rämä: "As a fan of KORPIKLAANI, I've always had a vision of my ideal music video for them, so you can imagine how excited I was when Jonne told me that I have 'free hands' on writing and directing this one. I have to say that I got carried away with the storyline, but even as we were working on a shoe lace budget, we managed to make all the wild ideas come true.
THRESHOLD have just been confirmed for the Sweden Rock Cruise! The 24-hour cruise, which departs from Stockholm on March 27th, is organized to celebrate the 50th issue of Sweden Rock magazine and also serves as a warm-up for the Sweden Rock Festival in June. On board there will be three metal bars/night clubs with metal DJs, a record fair, metal karaoke, a pool/sauna area, casino, tax-free shopping, restaurants and more. Another Nuclear Blast artist already confirmed for the cruise is EDGUY!

There are several reasons for Control Denied to be taken much more seriously than just a side-project. One of them is certainly the name of the group’s founder - Chuck Schuldiner to this day remains an icon of death metal music, leaving behind a true legacy of amazing albums and memorable songs. Control Denied was his final and most personal creation – a natural continuation of the ideas gathered in Death’s three last albums – “Individual Thought Patterns”, “Symbolic” and “The Sound of Perseverance”. Although musically the group ventured away from death metal into a bit lighter style, the progressive edge remained untouched – the band’s debut (and, as it was soon to be revealed, only) album, “The Fragile Art Of Existence” is still one of Schuldiner’s most fruitful efforts, showcasing mature, structured musicianship and amazing songwriting skills. Crimson Glory emerged on the 80’s metal scene as quite a phenomenon, delivering a groundbreaking mixture of glam and power-metal, with a progressive twist to it. Their debut album “Crimson Glory” from 1986 has brought them a huge acclaim from the fans, to whom they would refer to as The Crimson Militia. The album’s success was not surprising – the unique collaboration of heavy, yet melodic guitars, brilliant drumming and amazing vocals brought a true masterpiece onto the prog/metal soil. But the band did not rest after the release of their debut and immediately begun working on a follow-up. And so in 1989 Crimson Glory’s finest achievement was born… “Transcendence” took almost two years to create, but the result was simply astounding. Crimson Glory managed to come up with an album that featured all the unique elements found in the debut and took them to the next level.

If there's some kind of a substance making bands into legends, Paradox knows the recipe. The beginnings of Paradox reach out to 1986, when vocalist/guitarist Charly Steinhauer and drummer Axel Blaha formed the band in Wόrzburg, Germany. Markus Spyth (guitars) and Roland Stahl (bass) - joined the band to complete Paradox's first official line-up. Year 1986 also brought the group's first demo tape sent to Roadrunner Records who decided to sign the band for a worldwide record deal. This German power/speed/thrash phenomenon is to this day considered one of the most important bands of the late 80's metal scene, achieving their status by merely two records, both best described as epic.

Progressive metal as a genre had its most fruitful span in the break of late 80's and early 90's, when bands such as Queensryche, Fates Warning and Dream Theater set the standards for future acts to follow. Amongst the giants of the progressive scene there were few lesser known bands. One of those underestimated and forgotten ones was Kinetic Dissent, formed in 1987 in Atlanta, USA. After two demo releases the band debuted in Roadracer in 1991 with "I Will Fight No More Forever". The album was greeted without much enthusiasm, just to receive the appropriate acclaim years later. Today it seems really awkward that this record has been so overlooked. Introducing nine prog-metal masterpieces, the album featured a surprisingly wide range of compositional varieties, stretching out from slow, dissonant and almost Voivod-like sections, to mid-paced and melodic tunes and fast, thrash-oriented pieces.

Znowhite - one of the fastest speed metal bands of the 80's returns with the re-release of their debut album "All Hail to Thee".
Among other speed metal bands, Znowhite definitely had style and character. Formed in 1982 in Chicago, Illinois by three relatives (Ian Tafoya - guitars, his brother Sparks - bass and cousin Nicky - drums), the group concentrated on the fastest and wildest genre of metal. Their music gained much popularity - it only lack a good singer. Surprisingly, the band's manager - Nicole Lee - revealed skills as a metal vocalist. Their first demo released in 1983 was sent to record companies. It enchanted Brian Slagel of Metal Blade, who added the song "Hellbent" to the world famous Metal Massacre compilation. Being listed next to Tyrant, *****, Virgin Steele, Warlord and Slayer gave the band definite recognition and helped them to sign a record contract.

Sleaszy Rider Records inked a deal with the belgian death metallers PREJUDICE. Except the release of their new album, we will also re-release all their previous albums: 'Broken Promises', 'Reality' and 'Dominion of Chaos' in a re-mastered edition coming with lots of other extra's and they will be released in March just before the European tour of PREJUDICE and Suhrim.
The new album will be recorded in September, the release date is set for January 15:th 2007 and distributed worldwide through EMI with a special edition (slipcase or digi) for the first pressing. PREJUDICE will enter the Excess studio in Holland (Gorefest, Sinister, Disavowed, God Dethroned, Prejudice, Emeth, Ayreon, After All, After Forever) and the mixes will be done at the Antfarm Studios in Denmark by Tue Madsen (Mnemic, Illdisposed, Gorefest, Hatesphere and lots of other killer bands) and the mastering will happen probably in Cutting Room Studios (Dimmu Borgir, In Flames, Hypocrisy, The Rasmus, Primal Fear, Rammstein etc) in Sweden.

poster for free! The digi-CD will be available for sale through our web site
soon and through record stores worldwide around mid-March.Also, there are
plans to do a gatefold vinyl edition of the OVERLORDE release.
The master CD is already in the pressing plant, but the vinyl edition won't
be available sooner than late May. That vinyl edition will be limited to 500
